It ultimately turned out that the HP tablet codenamed Topaz was the HP TouchPad, but it’s been quite some time since we’ve heard any news about its smaller partner, Opal. Rest easy though, because it turns out that Opal is still alive and kicking, as evidenced by the apps page on the HP website.
